Job Description:
The Government of the District of Columbia – Office of the Chief Technology Officer (OCTO) is seeking a Security Endpoint Engineer/Administrator to manage, secure, and support endpoint infrastructure. The role focuses on device provisioning, patch management, policy enforcement, and troubleshooting using Microsoft Intune, Tanium, SCCM, Jamf, and related tools.
Specialty Areas:
• Endpoint Management & Security – Expert in managing and securing Windows/macOS devices using Intune, Tanium, SCCM, and Jamf.
• Device Provisioning & Policy Configuration – Proficient in Windows Autopilot, device policies, software deployment, and patching.
• Scripting & Automation – Strong PowerShell and shell scripting for task automation, policy management, and software deployment.
• Cloud & Infrastructure – Integration of endpoint tools with Azure AD and modern MDM infrastructure.
• Technical Support & Troubleshooting – Advanced endpoint support, patch validation, and Tier III issue resolution.
Responsibilities:
• Administer and configure endpoint security tools (Intune, Tanium, SCCM, Jamf).
• Manage device provisioning, Autopilot deployment, and OS patching.
• Develop and deploy software packaging and configuration policies.
• Perform endpoint health monitoring and maintain patching compliance.
• Troubleshoot device and security-related issues for Windows/macOS environments.
• Create and manage scripting solutions for automation and policy enforcement.
• Maintain development, test, and production endpoint environments.
• Generate endpoint reports using Graph Explorer/API tools.
• Collaborate with teams for implementation timelines, reporting, and documentation.
• Support mobile and cloud-based device management using industry best practices.
• Create and update technical documentation and end-user training materials.

Mandatory Requirements:
• 6+ years of experience in endpoint management and security.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Intune, scripting, and provisioning tools.
• 3+ years of endpoint troubleshooting experience using PowerShell and advanced scripting.
• BS degree in IT, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Must pass a background and credit check.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with macOS endpoint management (Jamf).
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Familiarity with government IT operations and compliance policies.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, onsite environment.
